A Letter From Pam

It was with a mixture of sadness and joy that I announced my retirement from direct clinical services in 2006.

It was an absolute wonder to work with children for 30 years. I learned so much. I only hope that I gave these children something of value that will last them their entire lives.

I now work full time as a writer, book publisher and lecturer. This website will continue to summarize these activities.

Special thanks to all the families that entrusted me with their children throughout those many years. I cannot thank you enough.

Find a Speech-Language Pathologist

Are you a parent looking for a speech-language pathologist for your child?

Most communities have a few speech-language pathologists who specialize in young children with severe speech and language delay/disorder. You will want to find that person.

how do i find a therapist?

Your child may be receiving speech-language therapy in school, and that is good. But you also may be seeking private therapy, or therapy in a special school. Pam usually recommends that parents do some calling around to find just the right person for their child. Start with your school district, the local hospital, or any private clinic, and ask them who in the community is known for working with children like yours. Most speech-language pathologists are happy to refer parents to just the right person in the community.
